The ingredients needed to make Tiranga chawal:
- Make ready 1.5 cup Rice
- Take 2 Onions finely chopped
- Take 1 tomato paste
- Make ready 3-4 finely chopped garlic
- Prepare 1 cup boiled spinach paste
- Get 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- Get 1/2 teaspoon Kashmiri lal mirch powder
- Prepare to taste Salt according
- Prepare Water as required
- Take 6 teaspoons Oil

Instructions to make Tiranga chawal:
- Wash rice and divide into three parts. We are going to cook rice in three different ways to make tricoloured rice.
- For saffron coloured rice. Take a pan and heat 2 teaspoons of oil in it. Now put 1/3rd of cumin seeds and saute, then put half of onion paste and saute it till onions get cooked, now add kashmiri mirch, salt, turmeric powder and mix well, now add tomato paste and saute for 1 min. Now add 1 cup of washed rice and 2 cups of water and let it cook for 10 mins after covering pan with a lid. After 10 mins saffron coloured rice are ready.
- For white colored rice heat 2 teaspoons of oil in an another pan and put some cumin seeds in it. Saute and then add salt and 1 cup of rice and 2 cups of water and mix well then cover with lid and let it cook for 10 mins at low flame. After 10 mins white rice are ready to serve.
- For green colored rice. Wash, boil and grind spinach to make smooth paste. Now heat an another pan and add cumin seeds, chopped garlic, rest of onion paste and saute till onion get light brown colour. Now add salt, 1 cup of rice, 2 cup of water and spinach paste and mix well. Cover with a lid for 10 mins, after 10 mins green colored rice are ready to serve.
- Now take a plate and make a rectangle with saffron colored rice, then another adjoining rectangle with white colored rice and another adjoining triangle with saffron colour. Make the Ashok chakra on white colored rice with whole black pepper. Tiranga chawal are ready to serve.
- I never use artificial food colors to colour my food stuff. so, even here I used natural colors of vegetables.
