  1. Add the chopped dark chocolate and salt to a medium bowl and melt in warm water on the stove (50C).
  2. Cover the inside of a loaf mold with plastic wrap.
  3. Pour the melted chocolate into the mold. Keep in the freezer until frozen.
  4. Remove from mold, cut into cubes, and set aside until use.

  7. Sift the flour, cocoa powder and baking powder into a medium bowl and combine. Set aside until use.

  10. Add the flour mixture to the wet mixture and use a rubber spatula to mix until half mixed.
  11. Add the chocolate cubes to the mixture and mix until smooth.
  12. Pour the batter into the mold. Bake for 50 min, rotating the mold halfway through.
  13. Just before the loaf finishes baking, add the sugar and water to a medium saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat. Add the brandy to the solution and mix well.
  14. Remove the cake from the mold and brush the cake with the hot syrup.
