Kadhi chawal (yogurt curry with rice) is a popular, rice based dish from India. Now that I have come back from home I have yet another mom's special with me. and this time its kadhi chawal.   1. Grate tomato, ginger and green chillies in a mixer. Heat a little oil in a pan and fry the gram flour well. When the gram flour becomes brown, turn off the gas. Add some oil to the cooker and heat it. Now add asafoetida and cumin seeds, add turmeric and coriander powder in it and mix it well.
  2. After roasting this spice, add tomato mixture and roast it too. Add roasted gram flour, red chilli and chopped potatoes in this mixture and roast it. After roasting 2 minutes, put water and salt in it and close the cooker lid. Wait for whistles to come. Close the gas after some time. After leaving pressure, put Kadhi in a bowl and put hot masala on top.
  3. Take rice and soak it in water for some time. After some time, put the rice in the cooker and put water in it and stop the gas when a whistle arrives. Wait for pressure to come out. When the pressure goes out, take the rice out in the bowl. Kadhi Rice is ready to serve.
