Kadhi chawal (yogurt curry with rice) is a popular, rice based dish from India. Now that I have come back from home I have yet another mom's special with me. and this time its kadhi chawal.   2. Heat oil in a frying pan, make pakoras of it as per your size preference.
  3. Now in another pan, add curd, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, dry fenugreek leaves and water as per the need and place it on the flame and cook it for 1 hour at least.
  4. Now drop pakora in that curd liquid and cook it for another 1/2 an hour then switch off the flame.
  5. For tempering, in a tempering pan, add oil, cumin seeds, dry red chilli, asafoetida and bay leaves and allow it crackle.
  6. Then pour it over kadhi.
  7. Your kadhi is ready to serve.
  8. Serve it with steamed rice.
