The ingredients needed to make Qatayef:
  1. Get For For batter :
  2. Get 1 cup Plain flour (maida)
  3. Get 3 tbsp Semolina
  4. Prepare 4 tbsp Sugar
  5. Get 3 tbsp Milk powder
  6. Make ready 1/2 tsp Salt
  7. Get 1/2 tbsp Yeast
  8. Get as required Lukewarm Water
  9. Make ready For stuffed cream:
  10. Get 1/2 cup Fresh paneer
  11. Get 500 ml Milk
  12. Get 1 tsp Rose essence
  13. Get 1/4 cup Sugar
  14. Prepare 2 tbsp Corn flour mixture
  15. Prepare as required Water
  16. Prepare 3 tbsp Ghee for greasing
  17. Make ready 3 tbsp Dry fruits for garnishing

Then, qatayef is generously imbibed with thick sugar syrup perfumed with rose water or orange blossom typical of oriental pastries. Qatayef is a pastry that is widely popular in the Middle East. Etymologically, the word qatayef comes from the Arabic word qataf which means "pick up". This iconic dish is prepared using all-purpose flour, milk powder, yeast, baking powder, sugar, salt and an array of nuts, and is dipped in a delicious sugar syrup to give it the unique and lip-smacking taste that will make you fall in love.

Instructions to make Qatayef:
  1. In bowl mix all batter ingredients mix well make batter like pouring consistency. - Close lid keep on warm place for 1 hour.
  2. Now make the stuffed cream. -  Boil the milk in pan add sugar, crumble paneer and add, rose essence mix well. Add corn flour celery (mix cornflour powder with some water mix well till no lumps remain) add mixture in pan, cook for 2 mins on low to medium.
  3. After 1 hour fluffy batter is ready whisk well. Grease the tawa with ghee pour the 1 big spoon batter on it first 30 sec cook on high flame then cook on low to medium flame for 5 mins or well cooked,  cook only with one side, take out on cloth cover it with cloth make all with same method. I made 8 Qatayef pancake with this batter.
  4. Fold the pancake press tightly and pack it filled the cream and garnish with dry fruits. -        Yummy Qatayef is ready to eat.

Ramadan's food mascot, Qatayef is a classic Middle Eastern dish that makes the rounds every Ramadan.
