- Get 1 packet Button Mushroom
- Get 1/2 Green bell pepper
- Make ready 1 Green Chilli
- Take 1 Onion chopped
- Take 1 tsp Pepper
- Take 1 tsp Red chilli powder
- Make ready to taste Salt
- Take 2 tbspn Groundnut oil
This mushroom pepper fry is chettinad based,spicy and quick fry. The addition of capsicum with mushrooms and freshly ground pepper takes the dish to new level. Small button mushrooms works best for this recipe. Mushroom pepper fry is a simple, healthy & delicious South Indian dish made with mushrooms, bell peppers, curry leaves, fresh ground black pepper & fennel seeds.
Instructions to make Mushroom pepper fry:
- Chop mushroom into pieces, chop bell pepper in finger style, 1 onion finely chopped
- Heat pan and add 2 tbspn of oil.
- Add onion and Fry till it becomes golden brown colour.
- Add button mushroom and bell pepper and saute for few mins
- Do not add water. Water from mushroom plant is sufficient
- Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and saute for 2 mins
- Add salt and let it cook for 2 more minutes
- Consistency when mushrooms and Bell pepper is cooked.
- Sprinkle pepper and switch off stove.
- Ready to serve
It goes so well with plain rice, chapati, paratha, phulka or roti. I also use it as a stuffing in sandwiches and kathi rolls. It will start leaving water , then add pepper powder,coriander,red chilli and garam masala powders and mix well. Add required salt, give a quick mix garnish with coriander leaves and switch off.
