Ukadiche Modak is an Indian sweet dumpling made during the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. It is made from steamed rice flour and stuffed with a sweet mixture of jaggery and grated coconut. Instructions to make Ukadiche Modak:
  1. First add grated coconut in a pan heat it add sugar,jaggery,cardamom powder,1tsp ghee and saute it thickens
  2. Add dryfruits and take it down to cool it. Stuffing is ready
  3. Now take 2 bowls water in pan add 1 tsp sugar,1 pinch salt,1 tsp ghee. Let it boil.
  4. Add 2 bowls rice flour,mix well. Letafter 5 minutes take it down and let it cool for at least 15 minutes
  5. Knead it well and take a small ball
  6. Spread it with fingers and stuff the modakas
  7. Boil water,put a sieve on a stand grease with ghee place the stuffed modakas for steaming
  8. After 15 minutes ukdiche Modak are ready for nivedayam
