- Take 1 cup Rice Flour
- Prepare 1.4 cup Water

Ukadiche Modak is an Indian sweet dumpling made during the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. It is made from steamed rice flour and stuffed with a sweet mixture of jaggery and grated coconut. Steps to make Ukadiche Modak:
- Heat 1 tablespoon Ghee in a pan, add poppy seeds and saute for a second.
- Then add grated coconut and jaggery
- Cook this mixture for one or two minutes till it get light brown colour, Make sure that you do not overcook this mixture.
- Now add some crushed dry fruits and cardamom powder
- Mix well and keep aside this stuffing for few minutes
- Meanwhile boil 1 or 1.4 cup of water on medium flame along with a pinch of salt and 1 tablespoon of Ghee.
- Add the rice flour in a boiling water and mix well
- Stir this mixture continuously for 1 to 2 minutes to prevent any lumps
- Then cover the pan with lid and cook the mixture on a low heat for 5 minutes
- Now take this mixture in a large bowl or plate and let it cool for few minutes.
- Apply some Ghee or oil on your palm and knead the dough till it gets smooth and soft.
- Now take a large lemon sized ball from the dough and flatten it with your fingers.
- Make rounded shape disc / bowl and press the edges to reduce the thickness
- Now start pinching the modak edges with your fingers and make more pleats, so that it will look nice.
- Then fill the coconut-jaggery stuffing at the center and gather the pleats together to form a bundle and pinch to seal the edges at the top. You can also use ready modak moulds.
- Now place all the modak in a steamer and steam it for 8 to 10 minutes
- Then offer these hot Ukadiche Modaks with pure Ghee as Naivedyam to the Lord Ganesha.
