- For the filling,add poppy seeds in a pan, roast it then add jaggery and grated coconut and mix well.cook for 2-3 mins and add cardamom powder. Switch off the gas and let it cool.
- Apply ghee on your palm and knead the dough, Take small ball from the dough and press it in the middle and make thin and even layer. Fill the cavity with the filling mixture.Seal the cavity and shaped into modak.
- Keep the modak on the steamer and steam for 12-15 minutes until they turn translucent.
