When i was looking for dinner inspiration online, i came across a picture of a spicy chicken curry served with some naan. I got so inspired from that so i made it almost immediately. Bengali Mishti pulao is a very popular and authentic rice preparation from the land of Bengal. It is made in each and every household of Bengal ,specially on festival and special days.
Steps to make Shahi malai chicken with bengali mishti rice:
- Heat ghee in a pan add whole garam masala and fry for 1 minutes.
- Now add the Chicken pieces and fry until the chicken change its colour.
- Now add the cumin powder, salt, chilli paste and sugar and mix well.
- Now add the tomato puree mix well and cooked in low medium heat.
- Add the brown onion paste and mix well add the Coconut cream and cover the lid and allow to cook for 4 - 5 minutes.
- Check if chicken is cooked completely switch off the flame and sprinkle garam masala powder and serve.
Though it is named as Mishti pulao but it is not as sweet as zarda pulao. Once done, allow it to rest. In a small pan, heat a little ghee.
