- Add tamarind pulp, dal and jaggery. Mix well. Now simmer and allow to cook for 15 minutes
- Now heat ghee and splutter mustard seeds. Add urad dal, jeera,hing, dry red chillies. Once urad dal browns, add curry leaves. Switch off
- Add seasoning to sambar. Mix well. Add coriander leaves. Serve hot with rice, dosa, idli Vada etc
The masala is made fresh each day and added to sambar. This sambar has a little coconut in it which makes it more tasty.
