Zobo is a beverage drink made from dried Roselle plant flowers. The drink is also known as Roselle drink and called Sorrel drink in the Carribean. Nigerian-style infusions made with the flowers yield a deep purple-red drink that is tart and concentrated. It can be sweetened and flavored in different ways a Zobo is one of the most consumed beverages in the world, ranging from Africa to Asia, Europe, America, etc. and it is served in various homes and restaurants.

Steps to make Zobo:
  1. In a pot, as washed zobo leaves and pour enough water to cover it totally, cook on medium heat an leave to boil for a few minutes,
  2. Add the ginger add more water and keep boiling for at least 30 minutes, this is the time it will take for the zobo leaves to be completely soft, turn off the heat and set aside to cool down completely,
  3. Blend your pineapple while your zobo cool, when cool, sieve out the zobo leaves, then pour the juice through a chiffon cloth to remove tiny particles and leaves only a smooth juice,
  4. Add the pineapple juice, you can sieve it through the chiffon cloth again to make sure there are no particles left, add any artificial flavour for your choice at this time and stir,
  5. Pour into bottles and refrigerate, serve with ice and slice cucumber.
