  1. Mix equal quantity of suji and curd(make sure it is not thick) and let it to ferment for 4-5 hrs
  2. Finely Chop your choice of veggies, I preferred capsicum and carrot
  3. Add the chopped veggies, crushed green chillies, salt and pepper to the batter
  4. Heat appe pan and pour little ghee in it. When warm add mustard seeds. Once it starts to crackle, pour the batter in the pan
  5. Cover it for 2-3 mins from lid so that the appe are well cooked and soft. When the upper layer is dry turn it and let it cook from other side
  6. Serve hot with your favorite chutney

This is not the typical Kerala appam Appams are soft and spongy in the center and has a lacy border. It is very good for health as it does. Nei Appam is a one of the common sweet made for the Thirukarthigai festival. The appam dough is made using rice flour and jaggery mix which is further cooked on the ghee. Appam is a South Indian pancake dish, made with fermented rice batter and coconut milk, common in the South Indian states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala Appam is usually served for breakfast or dinner.
